Smoke from a Small Fire in a Venice Beach Garage

Not all fires cause substantial loss to property and inconveniences to the owners. This garage in Venice Beach's smoke damaging incident arose from some oily rags that caught on fire. The homeowner extinguished the flames and realized the sooty residue on the walls and floor required professional cleanup. Our SERVPRO Fire & Smoke technicians set up a hydroxyl generator to rid the air of the pungent smoke odor as a first step. The soot was wiped off as much as possible with dry sponges to help prevent excess smearing and staining. We then sealed the walls with an odor suppressing paint primer.
